Abstract
INTRODUCTION: The purpose of this study was to compare isokinetic strength of ankle and hip joint between involved and non-involved side in women with chronic inversion ankle sprain.

METHOD: A total of 26 subjects with unilateral chronic inversion ankle sprain were recruited. We measured hip abductor muscle weakness with Trendelenburg's test and isokinetic strength of ankle and hip joint.

RESULT: First, there were significant differences between involve and non-involve side in ankle evertor isokinetic strength such as peak torque, peak torque/body weight, total work at 30¡Æ/sec and peak torque/body weight at 180¡Æ/sec. Second, there were significant differences between involve and non-involve side in hip abductor isokinetic strength such as peak torque, peak torque/body weight, total work at 30¡Æ/sec and peak torque/body weight at 180¡Æ/sec.

CONCLUSION: It shown that chronic inversion ankle sprain cause ankle evertor and hip abductor weakness therefore, muscle strength training should be included around ankle and hip joint for rehabilitation.
